Embark on the ultimate raw wilderness and cultural odyssey across North Sumatra and Aceh. This expertly curated 7-Day 6-Night Expedition is designed for true nature lovers and adventurers who want to experience Sumatra off the beaten path.
Your journey begins by ascending into the cool volcanic highlands of Berastagi before driving deep into Ketambe, the true, uncommercialized gateway to the UNESCO-listed Gunung Leuser National Park. Unlike other destinations, Ketambe offers a pristine primary rainforest ecosystem where you will trek deep into the jungle, sleep under the stars at a fully-serviced riverside campsite, and track completely wild Sumatran Orangutans, rare gibbons, and spectacular hornbills. From the deep jungle, you will cross back over the borders to the breathtaking shores of Lake Toba—the world’s largest volcanic crater lake. Exploring Samosir Island by private vehicle, you will uncover ancient megalithic execution sites, royal stone tombs, and master weavers keeping centuries of Batak culture alive.
